Askari Appeal is a charity run by British Legion Kenya that helps Askaris who fought for the Kings African Rifles, in the Second World War, as well as other conflicts prior to Kenyan Independence. All proceeds raised at the golf day will be used to provide welfare grants to the elderly Askaris and/or their widows - the majority of whom are in their eighties, with some being over one hundred years old. Currently, the charity is supporting 238 ex-Askaris and 221 widows.
Over the past 12 years, the Group has supported Rhino Ark in their initiatives through our involvement with their annual Rhino Charge event – the funds from which are used to support ongoing Rhino Ark initiatives.
