Platcorp Foundation Q1 Report 2026

From rhino conservation to scholarships, tree planting to healthcare support β€” Q1 2026 was all about creating lasting impact. We’re excited to share the Platcorp Foundation Q1 2026 Impact Report, which showcases how our Foundation and subsidiaries are supporting communities, conservation, education and wellbeing across East Africa.

This quarter focused on strengthening long-term partnerships, scaling community-led impact, and supporting practical solutions for both people and nature throughout East Africa.

🌍 Conservation & Environmental Impact:

We renewed and expanded key conservation partnerships with Rhino Ark Charitable Trust, The Lamu Marine Conservation Trust, WildLandscapes East Africa, and Maasai Mara Conservancies. Highlights included:
β€’ A KES 5 million grant secured to scale community-led conservation programmes
β€’ Continued support for marine ecosystem protection across Lamu Bay
β€’ The successful return of rhinos to Kidepo for the first time since 1983
β€’ 16,500 tree seedlings planted across Kenya through the LANSRET programme

πŸ“š Education & Youth Empowerment:

Across our subsidiaries, we supported access to education and youth development through:
β€’ Sponsorship of 25 students through the Sahih Scholarship Fund
β€’ Mentorship support for learners from underserved backgrounds
β€’ Donation of uniforms and school amenities to students at Kumbukumbu Primary School
β€’ Full-year sponsorship for 23 youth basketball players in Eldoret

🩺 Health & Community Wellbeing:

This quarter also saw initiatives focused on healthcare access and community wellbeing, including:
β€’ Support for life-saving heart surgeries for 41 children in Nairobi
β€’ Staff-led blood donation and medical supply support to hospitals in Tanzania
β€’ Community support initiatives reaching over 1,000 prison beneficiaries across Kenya
