In 2025, the Platcorp Foundation delivered measurable, system-driven impact across conservation and community development in East Africa.
Over 12,500 hectares remained under active protection, with 80 frontline rangers covered under life insurance and strengthened operational support. In the South-West Mau, 70 hectares of degraded forest were restored with an independently validated 81 to 87% seedling survival rate, while marine patrols and 998 deployed tsetse fly targets significantly reduced ecological threats and strengthened community stewardship.
Across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, our subsidiaries advanced impact through education, environment, health and community development initiatives. Highlights include:
• 100,000 seedballs and over 10,500 indigenous and fruit tree seedlings planted
• 63,000 sanitary towels distributed, improving menstrual health and reducing absenteeism
• Clean water access improved for 2,000+ students and vendors
• Direct empowerment of 20,000 grassroots women entrepreneurs
• Infrastructure and education support reaching thousands of learners across multiple schools
• Expanded access to life-saving surgeries, cancer care and occupational therapy for vulnerable children
This is impact anchored in governance, partnership and long-term systems change. As we look ahead, we remain focused on scaling sustainable conservation and strengthening resilient communities across the region.
