Marine Restoration, Oceans Alive - 2022 Update

Bubugo Conservation Trust

In Uganda, the Platcorp Foundation, together with Platinum Credit Uganda, has been supporting the Bubugo Conservation Trust, a Community Based Organization working to improve the environmental and social conditions in the Nile riverbank community.

Rhino Ark

The Platcorp Foundation continues to champion the preservation of the Kenyan environment and the management of her natural resources by providing support to rehabilitate and protect forests and wildlife areas, conserve biodiversity, mitigate against human-wildlife conflict and promote the use of renewal energy sources.

Nature Kenya Charity Golf Tournament 2022

The Platcorp Foundation in partnership with Nature Kenya participated in the 12th Charity golf tournament held at Karen County Club that was themed “Lungs for Kenya: Forest Landscape Restoration.” This is an annual event that seeks to help raise funds that go towards Mt. Kenya forest restoration.

Life cover for Rangers

The Platcorp Foundation continues to uphold its commitment to protecting rangers in the northern sector of the Greater Maasai Mara. With this in mind, the Foundation has renewed ranger’ life cover for 140 rangers through its partnership with Viva 365.

Don Bosco Television Donation

The Foundation through its various subsidiaries has been donating to several children’s homes as part its commitment to improving the lives of communities within which it operates.

Mbokishi Mara Conservancy

As part of our long-term commitment to Enonkishu conservancy, Platcorp Foundation has helped support the creation of a new conservation area in the Greater Mara - Mbokishi Mara Conservation Area, covering approximately 9,000 acres including 82 households and over 600 family members.

Hardy Market Clean Up - Karen

As part of our CSR initiatives for this year, the Group, through its subsidiary Eezy Track and Premier Credit Limited, have taken significant steps to clear up an illegal rubbish dump at the Hardy Market in Karen.

UltraMARAthon 2021

Platcorp Foundation once again provided support for the UltraMARAthon race with assistance in the form of organisation and administrative support, funding and direct sponsorship

Marine Restoration, Ocean Alive

This year we partnered with Oceans Alive Trust who is working with the Kilifi County government to improve Kuruwitu and expand its model along the Kenyan coastline.

Rangers' Support

Platcorp Foundation donated uniforms and equipment to Enonkishu, Lemek, Ol Chorro, and Mara North conservancies to support the rangers in the greater Mara area.

Elephant Fence Restoration

This year, we have partnered with Enonkishu with the replacement of a game fence specifically in place to prevent human-wildlife conflict for the Munya community who live on the boundary of the Greater Mara area.

Elongata Enkutoto Development

We are working with the South Rift Association of Landowners (SORALO) in supporting the Elangata-Enkutoto rangeland development which will provide a vital corridor linking the larger intact rangelands of the Southern Rift Valley to the greater Mara ecosystem and conservancies.

Mara River Bank Restoration

The Platcorp Foundation has been working with Enonkishu Trust together with House in the Wild since 2020 to help with the rehabilitation of the riverbank along the Mara River, adjacent to the Enonkishu conservancy.

Mau Forest Rehabilitation

Over the past 12 years, the Group has supported Rhino Ark in their initiatives through our involvement with their annual Rhino Charge event – the funds from which are used to support ongoing Rhino Ark initiatives.
